KAMMPIL and AFA Strengthen Partnerships across Mindanao in Week-Long Visit

From November 11 to 15, 2024, the KAMMPIL and AFA teams embarked on a collaborative journey across Mindanao, engaging with various agricultural cooperatives to conduct FEAT (Farmer Entrepreneurship Assessment Tool) evaluations, transition planning, and documentation of best practices.

The week began with a visit to the KAMADA ARC Cooperative in Misamis Oriental on November 11. The team worked closely with cooperative members to assess their entrepreneurial practices and plan for a seamless transition to more sustainable operations. The visit also highlighted the cooperative’s innovative approaches, which were carefully documented for sharing with other stakeholders.

From there, the team traveled to Lanao del Norte to meet with the BACFA cooperative on November 12-13. The discussions were marked by active participation from representatives of the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA). Together, they exchanged ideas and explored strategies to enhance the cooperative’s agricultural initiatives.

The journey culminated in Zamboanga Sibugay, where the KAMMPIL and AFA teams met with ALNEMPCO on November 14-15. The event featured robust collaboration with representatives from DA, ATI, PCA, local government units (LGUs), and Davao MPC guests. The visit reinforced the importance of partnerships in strengthening cooperatives and showcased ALNEMPCO’s unique practices and strategies.

The week-long trip was a testament to the power of collaboration and shared learning. Through these visits, KAMMPIL and AFA reaffirmed their commitment to supporting agricultural cooperatives in driving sustainable growth and development in Mindanao.
